Glenn S. Gerstell was the General Counsel of the U.S. National Security Agency from 2015 to 2020 and is a Senior Adviser at the Center for Strategic & International Studies. His frequent articles exploring the intersections of technology and national security have appeared in The New York Times, Barron's, The New Yorker, and The Washington Post. Often quoted in the news media, he regularly speaks at cybersecurity, technology, and national security conferences and testifies before Congress. A partner for almost 40 years at the international law firm of Milbank, LLP, he headed the firm’s Washington, D.C., Singapore, and Hong Kong offices. He served on the President's National Infrastructure Advisory Council, and graduated from NYU and Columbia University School of Law.
