Florian Mendel

Florian Mendel is a cryptographer and security architect at Infineon Technologies. He has a PhD degree in computer engineering and worked for many years in research before joining Infineon Technologies in 2017. Florian is well-known for his numerous contributions in symmetric cryptography. Among others he is a co-designer of the SHA-3 finalist Grøstl and the authenticated encryption algorithms Ascon and ISAP. Ascon has recently been selected by NIST as new standard for lightweight cryptography.
