Çetin Kaya Koç received his PhD degree from UC Santa Barbara in 1988. His research interests include cryptographic engineering, finite field arithmetic, random number generators, and machine learning. He is the co-founder of the Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems Conference, and the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cryptographic Engineering. He is the author and co-author of more than 200 articles, and the author, co-author, and editor of seven books in computer science and cryptography. Cetin was elected as an IEEE Fellow for his contributions to cryptographic engineering in 2007.
