Eliot Lear is a Principal Engineer in Cisco Systems’ Enterprise Chief Technology Office, focusing on IoT security, identity management, and cybersecurity. Lear is a senior contributor to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), having authored many standards and best practices on topics ranging from Internet routing to network management protocols to security and identity services. He holds several patents in this area. He has also chaired a research group in the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) and has served as a member of the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), an oversight committee of the IETF, and an advisory function to the Internet Society.
