Ed McAndrew is a Partner and Leader of the Privacy and Data Security Group, at Ballard Spahr LLP, in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia. Named a National Law Journal “Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Trailblazer,” McAndrew previously served as a Federal Cybercrime Prosecutor and National Security Cyber Specialist in the US Department of Justice. McAndrew handled some of the DOJ’s most significant cyber-cases, including the first US prosecution of a foreign hacker for theft of trade secrets, the first US prosecution of a Chinese national for cybercrimes committed entirely from China and the first cyberstalking resulting in death trial under federal law. He now counsels and represents organizations and individuals in cybersecurity, digital privacy and related matters.
