Cryptographer and Security Expert, KEYW
Ed Giorgio is the co-founder of Ponte Technologies, a cybersecurity company, recently acquired by KEYW. He holds a B.A. in mathematics from Northeastern and an M.S. in computer science from Maryland. An NSA mathematician for 30 years, Giorgio pioneered developments in cryptanalysis, communications security and public key cryptography. He is the only person to have served as both the U.S. chief codemaker and, subsequently, chief codebreaker. He designed and delivered NSA’s first public key based email encryption system. Today he assists clients by bridging business innovation, technology, cryptography and security. His research interests include cryptography, hidden Markov models, machine learning, Bloom filters, Internet metadata graphs and predictive analytics.
