Diane Murphy is an experienced information scientist, with an extensive technology career beginning in the UK in chemical informatics and most recently teaching and researching in the fields of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in the US. She is currently focused on data security to support the effective and reliable application of advanced analytical techniques, including data governance and securing chains of custody in complex data pipelines. Her current research also includes trustworthy AI, focusing on bias, and the use of intelligent agents in cybersecurity. She holds a PhD in information science from the University of Sheffield, has been awarded several grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF), has spoken at many events in the field, and has published widely.
