Dave Weitzel is a Principal in MITRE’s Cyber Strategy, Policy and Privacy Department. During the past year, he led the MITRE team supporting the Coast Guard’s congressionally mandated Maritime Cybersecurity Risk Assessment Model (MCRAM). MCRAM builds upon USCG work he led developing a series of NIST Cyber Security Framework Profiles. He has also supported other profiles for election systems, intelligent transportation systems, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Before to his return to MITRE, Weitzel was a Director in the Washington Federal Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers and a Senior Principal at Mitretek Systems (now Noblis). He received his BA from St. Johns College, his MS from Johns Hopkins University, and his JD the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
