David Coffey

Detective David Coffey has been a member of the Toronto Police Service since 1999 and has been assigned to the Financial Crimes Unit since 2020. He currently supervises the Central Fraud Intake Office, overseeing Toronto's centralized fraud reporting process while leading many of the Service's fraud prevention and community engagement initiatives. Throughout his career, he has served in divisional Criminal Investigation Bureaus, specialized fraud units, and the Intelligence Unit. A recognized speaker and media spokesperson, he regularly presents to community groups, financial institutions, industry organizations, and government partners on emerging fraud trends and prevention strategies.
