Dr. Dan Marino is a software systems researcher with a passion for security and privacy. He’s dedicated to practical research that puts innovative technology in users’ hands. Dan is an inventor on dozens of cybersecurity patents and his work has been published in top academic conferences and journals. Before joining RSAC, he worked for twelve years in the research group at Gen (formerly known as NortonLifeLock and Symantec). He received his doctorate in Computer Science from UCLA, and his dissertation was recognized with the ACM SIGPLAN Outstanding Dissertation Award. He attended Berkeley for his undergraduate studies (Go Bears!). Dan lives in Los Angeles and keeps entertained with travel, music, and cooking when not working.
