Ciaran Martin’s distinguished career as a civil servant with the UK Government led to his appointment as CEO in 2016 at the NCSC. During his service Martin established himself as one of the UK’s most eminent experts on cybersecurity. Following his departure in August 2020, his primary occupation is now in academia and he has recently been appointed Professor of Practice in the Management of Public Organizations at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University. In addition, Martin has also assumed an advisory role at both Garrison and Paladin Capital.
