Dr. Chutima Boonthum-Denecke joined the Department of Computer Science, School of Science, at Hampton University in Fall 2006 as an Assistant Professor. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Old Dominion in 2007; MS in Applied Computer Science from Illinois State University in 2000; and BS in Computer Science from Srinakharinwirot University in 1997.
Dr. Boonthum-Denecke is PI of NSF CyberCorps Scholarship for Service (SFS) program at Hampton University. She has been leading various funded projects from National Science Foundation (NSF), National Security Agency (NSA), and Office of Naval Research (ONR). Her areas of expertise include: Natural Language Processing, Computational Linguistics, Information Retrieval (IR), Cyber Security, Secure Coding, Secure Software Engineering, AI in Cyber Security, Web-Development & Technology, Computer Science Education, and Cyber Security Education.
