Christopher Nims
Executive Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer, Capital One
Chris Nims is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Capital One, where he currently leads the cybersecurity organization and previously led its Cloud Productivity Engineering division. Prior to joining Capital One in 2020, Chris served as Senior Vice President and CISO for Verizon Media, a position in which he led the cybersecurity due diligence and rebuild for Verizon’s acquisition of Yahoo. Chris joined Verizon Media through its acquisition of AOL, where he also served as CISO. In addition to his current work leading Capital One’s cyber organization, Chris serves as Executive Sponsor for the company’s Tech Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Council. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Northwestern University and a CISO Certificate from Carnegie Mellon Heinz College.
