Caleb Purcell serves as Lead Researcher for Fortiphyd Logic, where he researches cyber-physical systems and develops methods for securing industrial control system (ICS) networks. His interest in ICS security began as a controls engineering intern in industrial automation and has expanded to include reverse engineering, embedded systems vulnerability assessment, network protocol analysis and intrusion detection. Purcell began his career as an engineer by spearheading the vulnerability assessment and cyber-hardening of unique embedded and cyber-physical systems, including avionics platforms and radio networks. He also has experience utilizing PLC honeypots to identify reconnaissance methods used by remote actors to discover and interact with ICS devices.
