Brandon Pugh is the director of the R Street Institute’s Cybersecurity and Emerging Threats team. Outside of R Street, he serves in the US Army Reserve as a national security law professor at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, having previously served as a paratrooper and international law officer. Brandon is also a nonresident fellow with the Army Cyber Institute at the United States Military Academy and a member of the IAPP Research Advisory Board. Previously, he served in elected and appointed office at the local, county, and state level, managed a cyberwarfare publication, was a fellow with the FBI, and was legislative counsel for a state legislature, where he handled nearly all policy and legislation on cybersecurity and emerging technology for the office. In addition, Brandon is a proud active-duty military spouse and his wife serves as an Air Force pilot.
