Brandon Pugh is the director and resident senior fellow of the R Street Institute’s Cybersecurity and Emerging Threats team, which includes a large focus on data privacy and security. He also serves as an international law officer and paratrooper in the Army Reserve, along with working on the Army Cyber Institute’s critical infrastructure resiliency project. Previously, he served in elected and appointed office at the local, county, and state level, managed a cyberwarfare publication, was a fellow with the FBI, and was legislative counsel for a state legislature, where he handled nearly all policy and legislation on cybersecurity, emerging technology and privacy for the office. In addition, Brandon is a proud active-duty military spouse and his wife serves as an Air Force pilot.
