Andrew McAfee, a Principal Research Scientist at MIT, studies how digital technologies are changing business, the economy and society. His 2014 book, The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress, and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies (with co-author Erik Brynjolfsson) is a New York Times bestseller. He writes blogs, academic papers, and articles for Harvard Business Review, the Economist, the Wall St. Journal and the New York Times. He's talked about his work on The Charlie Rose Show and 60 Minutes, and at TED, the Aspen Ideas Festival and other venues. McAfee is a Harvard and MIT alumni, and a cofounder of MIT’s Initiative on the Digital Economy. He watches too much Red Sox baseball, doesn't ride his motorcycle enough and starts his weekends with the NYT Saturday crossword.
