Andrew Whalley is the director of Chrome Security. He oversees engineering teams focused on counter abuse, exploit defense, transport security, as well as generally keeping Chrome users and the web safe. Over the last seven years, he's managed teams working on sandboxing, memory safety, and Chrome's participation in the web PKI and security researcher communities. Before Google, he was a senior manager in Apple's security engineering organization, initially joining to found the first dedicated iOS security team. He's also worked at a number of startups, and for the British Government. Originally from Northern Ireland, Andrew holds a bachelor of engineering degree in command & control communications and information systems from the Royal Military College of Science in the United Kingdom.
