Supervisory Special Agent Ammar Y. Barghouty entered on duty with the FBI in 1999 with the FBI’s Washington Field Office and primarily worked international terrorism matters with extensive deployments to Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. From 2006 to 2011 Barghouty served as the FBI’s Assistant Legal Attaché in Cairo, Egypt, where he worked the full range of criminal, counterterrorism, and cyber-investigations covering Egypt, Sudan and Libya. From 2012 to 2013 Barghouty managed the FBI’s International Training program for the Middle East. In 2015 Barghouty joined the FBI Cyber Division’s Cyber Terrorism Unit where he currently program manages the ISIS computer intrusion threat.
