Dr. Allan Watt served as a New Zealand Army soldier for nine years and then served a further nine years as a sworn member of the New Zealand Police. For five of his nine years of service he worked as an Intelligence Analyst. This work involved Asian Crime, Serious Crime and Anti-Terrorism. In 1995 he completed his first computer forensic investigation. In 1999 after leaving the New Zealand Police and finishing off two undergraduate degrees he formed his own business in computer forensics, which he operated until moving to Sydney in 2008. On arrival in Australia he commenced work as the Head of Electronic Forensics, for a Corporate Litigation Support firm and in June 2011, he took a position with the NSW Police Force State Electronic Evidence Branch as an Electronic Evidence Specialist where he was employed unit commencing a full time position with Macquarie University in 2013. In 2008 he completed a MastersDegree, area of Research was Critical Infrastructure Ready Reaction to Cyber Terrorism and was awarded First Class Honours. In 2012 he completed a PhD with the University of South Australia area of research was Trafficking and Concealment of Child Abuse Material. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE).
