Senior Malware Research Engineer, FireEye
Ali Islam is a Senior Malware Research Engineer at FireEye. His career has spanned a broad range of cyber security disciplines from cryptography to malware analysis and reverse engineering. His recent research includes the discovery of the Sanny APT campaign which was targeting Russian space and telecom industry. Later, he collaborated with Korean Information Security Agency (KISA) to shut down the Sanny operation. Another of his research led to the discovery of the new Kelihos malware (aka Nap) which was flying under the radar from quite some time because of the evasion techniques it was employing.
Islam holds a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering and a Master degree in Network Security. He is an AUSAID scholar and the recipient of the prestigious Golden Key Award.
