Albrecht von Wittke has been serving as Minister Counselor in the Political Department of the German Embassy in Washington, DC, since August 2014. His current portfolio includes security policy, NATO and arms control/disarmament/ nonproliferation. Previously he dealt mainly with cyber-policy and counterterrorism issues. His previous postings in the German Foreign Service include Deputy Head of the Export Control Division for Conventional Arms and Dual-Use Goods in the Federal Foreign Office, Berlin; Germany’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Switzerland; Head of the Economic Section at the German Embassy Tel Aviv/Israel; other posts at the German Embassy Ljubljana/Slovenia and at the Federal Foreign Office, Berlin.
