Adrian Gropper, MD is CTO of Patient Privacy Rights, a national organization representing 10 million patients and among the foremost open data advocates in the country. As an entrepreneur and physician-developer, he has founded a number of software-intensive medical device companies. He has also participated in the creation of Blue Button, Direct Project, Blue Button Plus and is actively promoting patient-centered data policy. He holds an engineering degree from MIT and an MD from Harvard Medical School. At NSTIC / IDESG, he is the Privacy and Civil Liberties delegate to the Board and Management Council and vice-chair of the Healthcare Workgroup. In Massachusetts, he’s on the MA Medical Society Committee on Information Technology and the Task Force on Physician Choice and Mandates.
