Abby Deift

Director, Policy and Strategy, Office of the Chief AI Officer, Department of Homeland Security

Abby advises DHS’ Chief AI Officer on promoting nationwide AI safety and security, including engagement with critical infrastructure and private sector stakeholders. Most recently, she was Executive Director of the Cyber Safety Review Board, where she oversaw administration of the Board and development of its reports. Abby was previously VP for Enterprise Risk at Goldman Sachs, leading regulatory engagement for technology, climate, and business resiliency risk management. She served as Senior Advisor for Cyber Policy at DHS under President Obama, and held roles at the National Science Foundation, guiding programs for STEM research, and in the Office of U.S. Senator Gillibrand. Abby holds an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School and a BA from Columbia University in Mathematics and English.
