Tyler Nighswander (tylerni7) is a computer security expert who loves competitions. With his team he has won the prestigious Defcon CTF nine times--more than any other team in history. In 2016 he was on the team to win DARPA's Cyber Grand Challenge to build a fully autonomous system to find and patch software, and in 2025 he led team Theori to third place at the DARPA AI Cyber Challenge. Tyler holds degrees in Computer Science and Physics from Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests include reverse engineering, fuzzing, exploit development, cryptography, and AI. He works on Theori's Xint team doing research and development of all things computer security related.
