Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technology, National Security Council, The White House
Steve Kelly serves as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technology. In this role, he leads national policymaking and advises the President and NSC leadership on matters involving cyber defense, critical infrastructure security, cyber incident management, and emerging technologies. He serves as chair of the cyber response group, vulnerabilities equities process, and the cyber interagency policy committee. Steve is a special agent on detail from the FBI where he most recently served as the chief of cyber policy. Over his two-decade tenure, Steve has served in various cyber program roles in both the field and FBI headquarters. Prior to his government service, he practiced as a registered professional engineer.
