Mohammad Islam is a Distinguished Engineer on Uber’s Security team, where he builds scalable systems that secure data and access across Uber’s global platform. He has deep expertise in distributed systems, security, big data infrastructure, and machine learning. Previously, he worked at LinkedIn on the Hadoop development team and at Yahoo! as an Architect and Technical Lead for Apache Oozie. He Co-Authored the O’Reilly book "Apache Oozie" and served as VP and PMC Chair of Apache Oozie. He is also a PMC Member for Apache TEZ, with contributions to Apache YARN/MapReduce and Hive. Mohammad holds a PhD in Computer Science from Ohio State University.
