Francis deSouza

Francis deSouza is the Chief Operating Officer and President, Security Products at Google Cloud, where he leads strategic operations and the company’s world-class security portfolio across products, threat intelligence, consulting, and governance. He joined Google in 2025 after three decades as an engineer, technology executive, security expert, entrepreneur, board member, and investor. Prior to Google, Francis was the CEO of Illumina, where he led the company's growth and innovation in DNA sequencing. He also served as President at Symantec, overseeing their security and data management portfolio. Francis also co-founded several companies including IMlogic (an IT security company acquired by Symantec), and Flash Communications (an instant messaging company acquired by Microsoft).
