Anne Dames is an IBM zSystems Distinguished Engineer, Cryptographic Technology Architect and development leader for the IBM HSM product line and its Common Cryptographic Architecture, which encompasses financial services. She defines the deployment strategy for cryptography on the zSystems platform (hardware, firmware and operating systems) and incorporates advances in emerging technology. She leads the zSystems effort to leverage quantum-safe cryptography including the introduction of the first quantum-safe system in industry, IBM Z16. Anne is a member of the INCITS/Inclusive Terminology TC, NIST NCCoE Migration to PQC WG and serves on the advisory board of HOPE Worldwide Charlotte. Anne enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, strength training and long walks on the beach.
