Identity: Where Do We Go from Here?
Join this free virtual seminar to hear experts share actionable learnings and best practices around their identity approaches. Sessions will explore how identity fits into an overall security strategy and informs technology decisions, as well as the evolving threat landscape and how to authenticate, manage and control access.
The four sessions are split into two parts. Each part is approximately one hour followed by 20–25 minutes of Q&A with the speakers.
Seminar Part 1
8:00 AM - 9:30 AM PT | 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM ET
Session 1: Identity Transformation: Digital Journey in a Hybrid Environment
Top-notch identity and access management (IAM) is an integral part of a business model of today's top companies. Successful transformation of an IAM program begins with designing and implementing flexible architectures and process workflows to drive digital business innovation. This presentation will discuss an actual company’s journey to implement an innovative digital IAM program.
Presenter: Greg Bee, Chief Risk Officer & Chief Information Security Officer, Pekin Insurance
Session 2: Identity Underground: Exploring the Evolving Identity Threat Landscape
Going passwordless was intended to relieve the burden of password managers and multi-factor authentication, but cybercriminals are now stealing session tokens or cookies. As identity teams implement new and emerging authentication technologies, attackers continue to find novel methods of attack. This session will look at varying geo and industry trends as well as new and emerging threats to identity from scams to fraud.
Presenter: Nate Warfield, Chief Technology Officer, Prevailion
9:30 AM - 9:45 AM PT | 12:30 PM - 12:45 PM ET
Seminar Part 2
9:45 AM - 11:15 AM PT | 12:45 PM - 2:15 PM ET
Session 1: The Who, What, Where, When, Why and Hows of Implementing an Identity-Centric Security Strategy
Though focused primarily on federal agencies, the cybersecurity Executive Order released in May has driven changes in how organizations in both the public and private sector are approaching cybersecurity, and prompted a more strategic focus on the identity “layer” of cybersecurity architectures. Central to this is a focus on Zero Trust Architectures. But buzz words don’t make a security strategy. In this session, we will look at topics like Zero Trust and Decentralized Identity and explore how enterprises can best apply a robust identity and access management (IAM) framework to deliver an identity-centric security strategy.
Presenter: Jeremy Grant, Managing Director, Technology Business Strategy, Venable LLP
Session 2: How to Authenticate: What Tech Decisions Organizations Making and Why?
In this panel discussion, identity professionals across different sectors will discuss how to authenticate. In addition to offering insight into what technology decision they are making, panelists will also reveal the industry-specific threats they are seeing and how those threats inform the ways that they manage and control access with an eye on privacy and compliance.
Moderator: Pamela Dingle, Director of Identity Standards, Microsoft
Panelists: Major Liaquat Ali, Remote Piloted Aircraft Cyberspace Officer, Air National Guard; Rebecca Archambault, Trusted Identities Leader, Highmark Western and Northeastern New York; Andrew Nash, Independent Identity Consultant
