This Quick Look provides a short preview of the full session at RSA Conference 2024, taking place from May 6-9, 2024. Ransomware does not work in the cyber-physical world because data exfiltration and encryption simply don’t translate to OT. A viable modus operandi for ransomware would be a watershed for OT security. This session will introduce Dead Man’s PLC, an entirely novel technique for ransoming OT networks. Appreciating the practical reality of such an attack can thus better prepare to counter it.
