Cybersecurity’s Next Legal and Policy Frontier: Software Liability

The Biden Administration’s cybersecurity strategy called for a major shift in US policy to impose legal liability on software developers who produce insecure products. Overcoming license terms and disclaimers will require legislation defining standards of care for software development and establishing a safe harbor. This session will review proposals to achieve the White House’s goal.
