Presidential Executive Order 14028 demands software transparency and, more specifically, Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs). Some are fighting it relentlessly, raising the question: “Who’s really in charge?” This session will explore the key motivations of SBOMs’ fiercest opponents, the mis- and disinformation wielded in their advocacy for opacity, and why transparency is worth the fight.
