In response to threats to confidentiality presented by the current threat landscape, many cybersecurity experts have pushed for all sensitive data to be encrypted at rest or in transit. However, in many environments, encryption is overused or misused resulting in inflated costs and risk. This session will discuss the overuse of encryption, its misuse in place of integrity, and what that means to security.
