Insider Threats—When Is It Too Late?

Posted on in Presentations

Based on case trends from the last five years, the Department of State’s Insider Threat Program will present an exfiltration example and work backwards, looking at possible points leading up to an event when preventative measures should have intervened. The human element of security starts by building a trusted and mindful workforce, narrowing the pool of potential threats from the inside.

Pre-Requisites: Broad understanding of personnel security, human resources, cybersecurity, and insider threat would be useful, however not necessary. The concepts and principles are beneficial to all levels, however understanding relative government agency and/or private organization structure will allow for greater comprehension.
