Software Bill of Materials: Progress toward Transparency of Third-Party Code

Posted on in Presentations

A “software bill of materials” that lists third-party components can help both SW vendors and enterprise customers. In 2018, NTIA launched an open process of experts from many sectors to identify challenges in assembling, sharing and using this data. This talk will present progress and highlight successes in harmonizing standards as well as sector-specific use cases, including healthcare.

Learning Objectives:
1: Understand the value of software bill of materials, as well as challenges.
2: Understand the progress of this government-convened process.
3: Understand how to give input and participate across a range of sectors.
