How Public Interest Technologists are Changing the World

Posted on in Presentations

Public interest technologists apply technological expertise to further the public interest: by working on tech policy, working on a tech project with a public benefit, or as a traditional technologist for an organization with a public benefit. These people are already changing the world. In this session, we’ll talk about who and how – and what needs to be done in the future.

Learning Objectives:
1: Learn about an emerging field at the intersection of technology and the public interest.
2: Understand how cybersecurity, privacy and data are core to growing debates about human society.
3: Explore the breadth of roles and opportunities that public interest technologists are occupying and creating.
