IoT Archaeology: Dig Security Lessons

Posted on in Presentations

The Internet of Things is turning 100 years old! This session will go back even farther to track related security issues. Easy to remember incidents and issues to build the case for common controls. Modern IoT is complex; architectures have many common emergent issues, but it is possible to make good decisions if you choose the right trade-offs.

Learning Objectives:
1: Remember it must be outbound only!
2: Don’t assume paths are secure, it is all in band, sign.
3: Proprietary controls don’t last, commodity unintended attacks!
