How Do We Make Important Decisions under Conflicting Uncertainty and Need?

Posted on in Presentations

We’ll discuss important decisions that we have made with significant impact to us. For example, have you ever decided to withhold a security patch knowing that it is insufficiently tested but at the same time you’ve had to watch your system being exploited? How did you organize arguments for and against? How did you measure their quality and strength? What was the final outcome?

Learning Objectives:
1: Discuss how people in the room handled Meltdown, Spectre or similar patches
2: Share other important “go-nogo” decisions that attendees have made
3: Learn about the limit of argumentation systems, logic, relevance, available data
