Gamification: Emerging Regulation (aka “Make Money and Avoid Jail”)

Posted on in Presentations

Social gaming, skill gaming and fantasy sports are exploding. Everything is becoming “gamified.” Unlicensed gambling is prohibited. What distinguishes “real” gambling from these other forms? Do virtual currencies matter? What are we seeing in the marketplace? How are laws evolving in this area, and how can data analytics be used to manage risk and compliance? What can we learn from other contexts, and what are the implications going forward?

Learning Objectives:
1: Understand the legal implications of gamifying products.
2: Learn about the impact of new technologies and techniques on managing risk and compliance.
3: Explore how to navigate gambling laws in developing legally compliant games.
