DDoS, Ransomware, honeypots, breaches, encryption—common words used by information security professionals that can strike fear into the hearts of end users and executives. Too much FUD leads to confusion, bad choices and inaction. This talk will illustrate how language is used in security and how it can be used to spur action or create hysteria and paralysis.
