RSA Conference 2019 Theme: Better

Posted on by Sandra Toms

One of the most exciting and invigorating times of the year for the RSA Conference team is putting our collective heads together to brainstorm, select and develop a new theme for the upcoming year. We tackle this process armed with all of the verbatims and comments our attendees, sponsors, speakers, exhibitors and entire staff take the time to provide at the end of Conference. As I mentioned in a blog post leading into RSAC 2019 Boot Camp, every piece of feedback is reviewed and digested to help shape our direction for the next year.

Our goal is to not only improve the RSA Conference experience each year, but to tap into a significant aspect of the evolving information security landscape. And, in relation to both there is one word that has bubbled to the top throughout feedback, industry conversations and Boot Camp: BETTER.

When it comes to cybersecurity, what defines better? New tools for building stronger walls? Sharper algorithms for predicting risk? AI and machine learning to help outsmart cybercriminals?

That’s certainly part of it. Technology always has to move forward. But it’s not the only answer. Ensuring a brighter future requires all of us – everyone from the C Suite to those of us on the front lines -- to be better today. To stay on top of the latest threats. To put in the extra hours. To make security a top priority. And most importantly, to never forget the fundamental reason why we’re here: to help ensure a more secure world so others can get on with the business of making it a better one.

This collective desire to do more is the mission of RSA Conference. We come here to experience better solutions, brainstorm better ideas, and remind ourselves that a better, safer world is ahead when we have the drive, the strength and the vision to work together to create it.

Do we have it all figured out? Do we have all the answers? No. But we are collectively working together, piece by piece, to build something better. What does better look like? Over the course of the next several months, we will be unveiling new initiatives and programs in a series of blog posts leading up to RSA Conference 2019.

Join us for RSA Conference 2019 and be a part of the collaborative solution to make cybersecurity and our world BETTER.
