The issue of data ownership and privacy is becoming increasingly complex. The growing trend by employers to incentivize employees with health and wellness devices in particular raises a number of ethical questions as employers use the data to negotiate insurance costs. This session will consider the implications from both the employees’ and employers’ perspective.

Learning Objectives:
1: Understand the legal and ethical challenges ahead in employee surveillance.
2: Learn to assess options for balance between employee privacy and data monitoring.
3: Identify ways to ensure employees understand legal options and implement them.
