Martijn Grooten

Editor, Security Researcher, Virus Bulletin

Martijn Grooten once dreamed of becoming a professional mathematician. He woke up from that dream just short of finishing a Ph.D. thesis on algebraic geometry and ended up working in computer security. Which he then discovered was pretty exciting too.

He’s currently Editor of Virus Bulletin, and has run comparative spam filter tests for more than six years. He has a broad interest in security in general and likes to read, write and talk about cryptography. He has spoken at various security conferences on topics such as botnet analysis, spam, IPv6 security and elliptic curve cryptography. He is a regular blogger and active user of Twitter.
