Emily Heath

Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, United Airlines

Emily Heath is United’s Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. In this role, Emily oversees the airline’s global information security program as well the IT regulatory, governance and risk management functions. Emily also serves as a Board member for the Aviation Information Sharing & Analysis Center (A-ISAC) and the National Technology Security Council (NTSC), a non-profit, non-partisan organization that serves as the preeminent advocacy voice for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) on matters of state and federal policy in Washington DC. She is also on the Board of Advisors for technology companies IBM and Symantec, member of the Board of Advisors for a venture capitol firm, Cyberstarts and is a Board member for the cyber security non-profit organization the Security Advisor Alliance aiming at building the cyber talent of the future. 

Prior to joining United Airlines, she was the Global Chief Information Security Officer at AECOM, a Fortune 500 architecture, engineering and construction company where she led the information security, regulatory and risk programs. Before joining AECOM, Emily served in various IT leadership positions, working with MGM Studios, Sony Pictures and home fitness company Beachbody LLC. 

Originally from Manchester, England, Emily is a former Police Detective from the UK Financial Crimes Unit where she led investigations into international investment fraud, money laundering and large scale identity theft cases, running joint investigations with the FBI, SEC and London’s Serious Fraud Office. 

Emily was recently named one of Crains 2018 Tech 50. Her teams have been the recipients of CSO Magazine’s CSO50 Awards for their work in cyber and risk. She was also a finalist for SC Magazine’s CSO of the Year Award 2017. Emily has a passion for building diverse teams and exeptional leaders.

She currently lives with her wife in Chicago Illinois and enjoys food, travel, technology and art.
