Brendan Shields

Staff Director, House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security

Since April 2014, Brendan Shields has been the Staff Director for the House Homeland Security Committee, which provides Congressional oversight to the US Department of Homeland Security to better protect America against possible terrorist attacks. Shields has served as a leader in counterterrorism and homeland security issues at home and overseas. He worked at the White House coordinating security policy and deployed as a US Navy Officer with Special Operations Forces overseas to target and eliminate terrorists. He previously worked as a Vice President at a leading security company that holds contracts with the US Government. His prior government experience includes work at the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, and various offices in the US House of Representatives and the US Senate.
