Director, Cyber Security, CESGSince August 2015 Alex Dewdney has held the post of Director Cyber Security and Resilience at CESG, the UK’s National Technical Authority for Information Assurance. CESG has a lead role in strengthening the UK’s cybersecurity and information security defenses across government, the CNI and the wider economy. This role focuses on building long-term resilience across the relevant sectors, combining with cyber-incident response and other operational cybersecurity activities. Dewdney has over 20 years of experience in security policy in UK government. Prior to his current role he was the Cyber Security lead in the British Embassy in Washington DC. Previous roles in government include helping shape the UK’s National Cyber Security Strategy and Programme, and developing policy frameworks for cyber-operations.
