RSACONFERENCE EUROPE ANNOUNCES FULL KEYNOTE LINEUP FOR 14TH ANNUAL INFORMATION SECURITY EVENT
Amsterdam, 2 October 2013 – RSA Conference (www.rsaconference.com), the world’s leading information security conferences and expositions, today announced its complete line-up of keynote speakers for the 14th annual RSA Conference Europe 2013, taking place from 29 – 31 October 2013, at Amsterdam RAI, Netherlands.
With over 60 sessions spanning 10 hours, RSA Conference Europe 2013 will connect attendees with industry experts sharing intelligence from real-world case studies and years of experience. The Conference’s eight keynote sessions offer a glimpse into security’s future and compelling insights from experts responsible for protecting the world’s biggest organizations and events.
In addition to previously announced sessions focusing on technology and security of the 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games with Lord Sebastian Coe and Mark Hughes, CEO, BT Security, this year’s keynotes hone in on two themes: data and disruption.
Attendees interested in big data’s transformative effects on information security and responding to next generation threats through security intelligence should not miss Tuesday’s keynote sessions “Big Data Transforms Security” with Art Coviello, Executive Chairman, RSA, The Security Division of EMC and Amit Yoran, Senior Vice President, RSA, The Security Division of EMC. Later on Tuesday Stephen Trilling, SVP, Chief Technology Officer, Symantec Corporation, is sharing a new paradigm for protecting assets against targeted, modern attackers and threats that have moved beyond traditional defenses. Those looking for more knowledge to move beyond a policy-driven security model into a data-driven approach can learn from Wednesday’s session “Data-Driven Security – Where’s the Data?” delivered by Wolfgang Kandek, Chief Technology Officer, Qualys.
Information security professionals understand that the industry is experiencing a disruptive evolutionary period. The next generation is now and the best and brightest must respond to keep pace with emerging threats and new vulnerabilities. On Tuesday, attendees will hear from Mike Reavey, Senior Director, Trustworthy Computing, Microsoft, on “A New Era of Operational Security in Online Services.” This presentation will cover how security must evolve to support the growing number of cloud services fueling the modern enterprise. On Wednesday, Joshua Corman, Director of Security Intelligence, Akamai Technologies, will cover the emerging role of DevOps (development + operations) in security. Mr. Corman will discuss his beliefs that DevOps is a game-changer and may be the end of security as we know it. Finally, Hugh Thompson, Programme Committee Chair, RSA Conference, will deliver a session on Wednesday, titled, “Degrees of Freedom: Rethinking Security” which will demonstrate what security professionals can learn from mathematics to define security variables that matter most.
"As IT Security becomes increasingly critical to business continuity and customer trust, RSA Conference Europe continues to provide in-depth education and guidance on new security trends, technologies and customer experience to IT professionals. By providing innovative content and networking opportunities, this conference has become one of the leading security events in Europe. We are looking forward to being in Amsterdam this year to participate in the conference as a platinum sponsor," said Amer Deeba, Chief Marketing Officer of Qualys.
“This year’s group of RSA Conference keynote speakers offers a unique mix of the future and the past,” said Sandra Toms LaPedis, Vice President and General Manager of RSA Conferences. “Our presenters have been at the forefront of securing the world’s largest businesses, most coveted IP and even the Olympics. Their experience taught them to be mindful of the next threat and as the industry matures, devices become inseparably connected and attackers evolve, an eye to the future will be crucial for securing the world.”
