The Systems Engineer IV is responsible for planning and engineering of all IT systems that supporting business operations. This includes but is not limited to evaluation/implementation of new hardware or software applications, performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, and incident response. This position leads through best practice principles/examples, and may direct some work of others. The position involves direct user interaction in a support role.

Maintain maximum uptime of all IT systems
Understand IT system planning, architecture, and engineering
Execute all phases of implementation for new or updated software/hardware systems
Develop existing IT systems and processes to maximize business productivity
Monitor, work, and update escalated tickets that come in through the Helpdesk system
Identify and handle Preventative maintenance of all IT infrastructure and systems through tasks including but not limited to; patching, updating, provisioning, decommissioning, and installation or replacement of hardware and systems

Primary planning and execution of all server application or hardware maintenance
Architect new/improved systems maintenance workflows and automations
Use best practice troubleshooting to identify symptoms, and resolve their root cause(s)
Document incident response, including report of steps to prevent issue reoccurrence
Properly escalate problems and supporting evidence to management or vendor support
Cross train with other team members to ensure redundancy of IT operations
Complete assigned projects with daily time entry
Communicate project related updates to project team sites
Identify/evaluate new technologies, under direction of IT management

Database Services
Email / Real-time Communications
Software & Patch Management
Storage & Backup Systems
Networking & physical hardware

Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or related field or 6+ years of equivalent work experience preferred
One of the following certifications required:
MCSA: Server infrastructure, MCSA: cloud platform and infrastructure, MCSA: Private Cloud, VCA, or other mid-level specialized certification
Certifications may be substituted by several years of experience in technologies listed below.
