We are seeking a Pre-Sales Consultant to work in collaboration with the sales organization in order to support the successful positioning of the HID IAM product portfolio with prospective and existing customers.

The role of Pre-Sales Consultant is a technical one and requires a broad understanding of Information Technology, Infrastructure, Protocols and Standards, more importantly this role requires that the potential candidate have an interest in continually learning new products and technologies in order to help customers overcome any technical objections that may arise. Furthermore the ideal candidate should have a strong business acumen and be able to connect the dots between said technologies and best practices and real world applications across a range of industries.

The ideal candidate should enjoy working on a remote team and with multiple account managers’, partners and end customers throughout the Americas. You will be required to be a self-motivated individual capable of communicating at all levels of an organization.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Work with Sales during the sales cycle to qualify, position, prove and demonstrate how HID IAM solutions can help the customer address and exceed their business requirements
• Attend customer workshops and meetings as trusted advisor and subject matter expert on IAM solutions whilst helping customers overcome technical objections relating to the procurement of HID IAM products
• Speak/Present directly to customers on behalf of HID and/or our Partners
• Represent HID Global at trade shows and public speaking events
• Lead in-depth technical discussions with partners, customers and internal resources alike
• Work with multiple partners and account managers
• Ability to listen and understand the overall goals of a customer, and how best to design a solution that will work in large scale diverse environments
• Work with global cross-functional teams (Sales, Product Management, Technical Services and Engineering) in order to provide ensure feedback from the field is provided to the relevant teams
• Follow market trends within information security and Identity and Access Management whilst contributing to continuous innovation and improvement
• Maintaining a clear understanding of risk management and compliance issues that affect HID Global’s targeted industries from an Identity and Access Management perspective

Education and/or Experience:
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills in both spoken and written English. The ability to also communicate in Spanish would provide the candidate with a strong advantage.
• BSc (or equivalent education) in Computing, a Physical Science or Engineering or at least two years of relevant industry experience, comfortable with business and technical aspects.
• Motivated, hard-working team player with initiative and able to self-manage
• Passionate about IT and IT Security
• An understanding of how IT security products are applied in the market to address needs such as identity management, identification, authentication, digital signing of transactions, non-repudiation, privacy and confidentiality
• An Understanding of some of the following technologies: authentication, biometrics, cryptography, network security or smart cards
• Experience with Microsoft Server platforms and/or Linux
• A willingness to learn and develop skills around industry standards such as: X.509, PKCS#11, OpenID, Ws-Fed, SAML, OAuth etc
• A willingness to learn and develop knowledge concerning regulatory standards applicable to our business

Language Skills:
• Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
• The ability to effectively communicate in an additional language would be considered beneficial

Computer Skills:
• Good experience and exposure to both Windows and Linux
• An understanding of (some of the following) system and network components such as Operating Systems, LDAP, Databases, Web applications, network protocols (SSL/TLS, VPN, IPSec, RDP, RADIUS), network security (firewalls, DMZ), virtualization technology, cloud services, PKI and Smart Cards
• Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Exposure to development languages such as Java, C++, SOAP and RESTfuldevelopment skills.
• Basic understanding of applicable industry standards and regulations such as:

• FIPS201
• FIPS140
• PSD2

Work Environment:
• The employee will be home based and expected to travel extensively for their work

Work Requirements:
• Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
• Many HID Global customers apply stringent security controls for as such you may be required to undergo security and pre-employment screening prior to employment.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently
